Icom Marine - SoftLine
Some customers do not want to use computers at all. They prefer the standard control head. But in order to have a very long cable connection between radio and control head, they need to go digital. Mimer SoftLine will do this for them.
This application is specially made for the Icom marine radios.
Remote Control Your Marine Radio Without a PC
Through the use of a specially designed version of the Mimer SoftLine Network Interface, you can set up remote control for an Icom marine radio (M423, M424, M400BB, M506, M510) using its standard handheld Command Microphone.
Mimer SoftLine allows the radio and microphone to be separated by a CAT5 or CAT6 cable of up to 150 meters. When connected through a LAN, WAN, or the Internet, the range can extend virtually “around the world.”
The image to the right showcases an Icom IC-M423 marine radio connected via Mimer SoftLine to a standard Command Microphone using an IP connection.
In control rooms where copper wiring and PCs are not permitted, a fibre connection can be used between the radio and the microphone.
Remote control makes it possible to place the radio high up in a building for minimal antenna cable loss or at a separate site closer to the shoreline and the vessels you need to communicate with.
The system also supports installations where the radio is mounted on an unmanned vessel (USV) while the operator remains safely on land.

All the radio models below are compatible with the HM195 Command Microphone.
The solution also works with radios that have the extension “G” or “GE”.

All functions that you normally get on the Command Microphone when connected direct to the radio, are also available through the remotely connected Command Microphone.
At the radio side, the standard radio microphone and radio front panel can be used in parallel with the remote.
An extra speaker can be connected at the remote end for a better audio that the built in speaker in the command microphone can give.
