Mimer X-Link - Permanent Local Patch
The Mimer X-Link is used when you need a permanent patch between two radio systems in the same area. It is a connection of the audio and PTT between two radios, of any type or brand.
Perfect when you have different radio systems that needs to work together. For example ground radio and airband radio at an airport. Also when migrating from an old system to a new system, so that all groups can talk together.
X-Link does not add any time delay to the voice traffic, the audio is analogue straight through.
The X-Link interface is very universal, it can handle any radio or PoC-unit.
Mimer SoftLine - Across Sites & Distances
X-Link is used when the two radios are at the same site. If you have the two radios at different sites then you use SoftLine instead.
This could be different towns or maybe at two different oil rigs. Connecting systems together so that a portable in one town can talk to a portable in another town.
The two systems can be of the same type or different types.
Mimer SoftRadio - Crosspatch Option
Where the X-Link and SoftLine makes a permanent patch, it will run as long as it has power, you can also build a patch using SoftRadio with the CrossPatch option.
This becomes much more flexible since the dispatcher then can turn the patch on/off, include more than two radios, change channels etc. The operator can can be a part of the patched call. The operator can also patch phone calls into radio calls.
