SoftRadio - Setup

Mimer SoftRadio is a system that gives you the possibility to remote control your two-way radio over a LAN, a WAN or over the Internet. It also lets you mix and match different brands and types of radios as well as phones and intercom.

From this page you can navigate to the needed information to do your setup of the SoftRadio system.

It is important to follow the instructions, otherwise the system might not work as intended or even not work at all.

Setting Up A SoftLine System

A SoftLine system is basically the same as a SoftRadio system. The difference is that you don´t use a PC at the operator, you have network interfaces at both ends.

Please use the same pages as with SoftRadio to download the specific instructions.

Setting Up SoftRadio Software And Options

You need to do some basic settings to get the system setup on your local LAN or over the Internet.

If you have a large system there might also be servers that needs to be setup.

And finaly when all is working, you might want to do some fine tuning of the settings in each operator PC to get as much performance as possible.

Setting up the correct IP and ID in the interface

To work in your IP environment, the network interface needs to be given the correct IP address etc. It also needs an ID number in the SoftRadio system. This is done from the software “Mimer Interface Setup” that is delivered and installed together with the SoftRadio operator software.

Setting up the interface and the connected radio

The Network Interface is delivered to work together with a pre defined radio model. There is seldom any settings needed in the interface itself when it comes to the radio model. Radios on the other hand, often needs to be setup in the correct way to work with the interfaces.

Instructions for each type of interface, cable kit and each radio model are sorted after the number of the cable kit that connects the interface and the radio.
