The Virtual Control Head gives the operator full access to the radio’s functions directly through the on-screen interface. The display is a direct copy of the radio display, allowing the operator to view frequency, channel, and status information in a familiar layout. Function keys and softkeys work the same way as the physical keys on the radio, providing control over radio functions without changing operating habits. RF gain can be adjusted directly from the interface, while the up and down keys perform the same action as turning the radio’s rotary control. A dedicated select key works like pressing the rotary knob on the radio, and an integrated keyboard allows direct entry of frequencies and values. The replay key enables playback of received audio, the Rx/Tx switch controls receive and transmit modes, and a dedicated distress button provides immediate access to emergency functions. Through the settings menu, the operator can adjust the control head size and configure how the radio display is shown in SoftRadio.
Sailor 6300-series
For the MF/HF radios in the Sailor 6300-series we have a kit that gives a full remote control.
You can remote control your radio from “anywhere” in the world using the Internet or other IP connection. All the radios functions, are remote controlled.
The system gives remote capability of audio and PTT. It also gives a full virtual control head with all the radios functions. Both the keyboard and the display are replicated on the Virtual Control Head. This means that all functions in the radio can be accessed remotely.
The radio can simultaneously be used as a standard radio with its control head, microphone and speaker.
As an alternative the universal interface can be used. This will only give remote capabilities of audio and PTT. Read more
