Dive Deeper Into What SoftRadio Can Do For You
Whether you're curious about how it fits into real-world operations, what radio types it supports, or how to integrate it seamlessly into your setup, these resources have you covered.
Platform for Multi-Site Radio Communication
Mimer MXB is configured through an intuitive web interface, making setup and management simple and efficient. It is designed to work seamlessly with all existing Mimer products and is planned to eventually replace the NetworkRepeater, RadioServer, and InfoServer in future deployments.
Mimer MXB can be delivered either as a VMDK installation for Linux or as a ready-to-use hardware server.
The Operational Challenge
Organizations operating across multiple sites need centralized operator control of distributed radio infrastructure, control rooms coordinating remote locations, dispatch centers managing mobile teams, operations spanning geographical regions.
Traditional approaches fragment operator access and create operational silos that reduce coordination efficiency.
The Solution
The Mimer MXB will connect to both radios and operators using a TCP connection over either a LAN, WAN or the Internet. This makes the MXB perfect to install in a server hall or in the “cloud”. You can connect virtually any number of radios and operators.
For failsafe the MXB can be configured in a hot standby mode where a second gateway automatically takes over if there is a fault, or maintenance is needed.
When a Mimer VoiceLog is needed to record the audio in the system, this can be connected directly to the MXB.
All configuration is done from a standard web browser.
Multi-Site Connectivity
- Connect operators to distributed radio sites
- Zone-based routing across locations
Operational Efficiency
- Single platform for multiple sites
- Simplified system architecture
- Reduced configuration complexity
Optional Hot Standby
- Increased robustness and uptime
- Minimal downtime during maintenance
- Automatic failover capability
Migration from RadioServer/NetworkRepeater
Organizations with existing Mimer installations can migrate to MXB:
- Hardware compatibility: MXB works with existing Mimer Network Interfaces and server software
- Client compatibility: "No client upgrade needed"
- Phased migration: MXB can operate alongside legacy components during transition
There are still installations where the legacy RadioServer and/or the NetworkRepeater is a better choice
- In installations where you have connections over high orbit satellites, like Inmarsat.
- In installations with many Intercom connections between operators
- In small setups with all operators at one site.
