Sirius Rugged Remote Panel
For tough users in rough environments!
A very rugged panel for use with the Motorola MotoTrbo radios.
Please select through the drop down menu above, or use the keys at the bottom, to read more about the Sirius Panel and what it can do for you.
The Sirius Panel has gone out of production due to lack of components and low demand. If a customer would like a large number of panels, we are willing to look at building a second generation.
Custom design panel for rough environments
The Sirius Remote Panel is a compact and rugged control head for Motorola DM4600* MotoTrbo radios. Sirius can be installed in environments and applications not feasible with the standard radio control head – while maintaining use of both analogue and digital DMR channels. Support of other radio types is under development, including TETRA terminals.
The Sirius Remote Panel can be mounted for best useability, while the transceiver itself can be mounted in a suitably protected location. Sirius has been optimised in cooperation with customers to provide the best balance of reliability and ease-of-use in demanding environments. The Sirius panel provides the key functions a user needs to access quickly and safely while ‘on the move’. Of course all the detailed functions of the radio remain accessible as and when needed on the radio itself, for example when the vehicle is standing still.

Built for work
The Sirius Remote Panel is designed and built to meet the demanding requirements of outdoor mobile operations, as in Public Safety, Defence, Border Patrol and Emergency Services. Sirius is ideally suited to commercial applications such as Mining & Offshore Operations, Construction, Heavy Transport and also Ski, Diving and Adventure Resorts. Examples of vehicle installations include motorcycles, four wheelers, snowmobiles or boats, fire trucks, tankers, or the deck of a ship.
The Sirius Remote Panel is dust and water proof to IP67 and certified for use to -20°Celsius, -30°C storage.
The transflective display is highly readable in bright sunlight while minimising glare in dark conditions. The panel is easily usable with gloves.
Menu functions
The main menu screen follows the design of the DM4600* main screen. Sirius presents all icons, the channel/talkgroup name, as well as the ID of the calling radio on a DMR channel.
A quick access menu provides the core functions of channel/talkgroup, volume control and display intensity. Only a few ‘clicks’ are needed to access to the full menu of the DM4600* and all its functions.
Handling difficult situations is greatly simplified – all that is required to trigger an emergency call – is a long press anywere on the panel’s display.
Installation
The panel connects to the back connector of the DM4600*. Audio is connected separately to accommodate the preferences of the user or operation, for example the use of a helmet headset.
A variety of mounting options are provided for the housing. Sirius can be mounted on a flat surface, on the rear of a vehicle panel, or on a handlebar. Custom housings can also be provided.
